Collaborative Design Studio conceptualized programmed, and designed the initial amenity center for a new, ground up housing development in Peoria, Arizona. Being included at the ground level allowed us to help shape and mold the vision for this community, focused on celebrating the rugged beauty of the desert and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. The entire compound was designed to blend and flow with the existing, varied landscape and desert washes with focused views to nature trails emanating from the amenity center.

The Amenity center building, dug into the hillside, contains large, community spaces with indoor/outdoor countertops and sweeping views. The site immediately surrounding the center includes barbeque pits, a quarry splash pad, amenity pool, large terraced event lawn, and food truck/community square.

Set at the base of a nature trail that extends up from the amenity center, the building is heavily integrated into the landscape. At the top of two separate nature trails, architectural follies are included in the design to provide shade, gather space for groups, striking destinations, and focus views outward from the site.
